This is your space

I’m here to help you

heal and grow.

I want our therapy to be a safe place for you to explore, learn, heal, and grow. A secure space where you get to be you, where you can give yourself a voice. I will be open-minded and nonjudgmental and treat you with warmth and respect.

I specialize in…

Creating Connection Within Yourself and the People Around You

You may be, like a lot of my clients, experiencing symptoms such as anxiety as well as overwhelm, guilt, anger, frustration, shame, perfectionism, and grief to name a few. A lot of these emotions can feel threatening to our system, and our natural response may be to push them away. What I encourage in our session is to get curious together about each of these different feelings and behaviors that are difficult to be with when you’re on your own.

This practice of curiosity can equip you to navigate the emotions when they arise and also honor the reason why they are there. Oftentimes, when we become better connected with our own individual identity and experience personal healing, we also become better communicators. As we learn to regulate our emotions, we can express ourselves more clearly and hold boundaries in healthy ways.

Healing from Past Hurts with Trauma Informed Therapy

I am a trauma-informed therapist, meaning I will look at the difficulties you are experiencing through the lens of how the symptoms developed as an adaptation to your environment. We are going to hold a space with lots and lots of curiosity and openness to be with your emotions and problems that are normally hard to be with. I employ interventions such as parts work and brainspotting to prompt changes in the subcortical brain where the knowings from your past and trauma are being held. You have a brilliant system that has enabled you to get through tough times. Given the right tools and environment, I trust that your system will move toward healing and love.

Spiritual Integration

Spirituality is often something that comes up in the process of a healing journey. Integrating spirituality into counseling can be very helpful to the healing process particularly when there is overlap with personal experiences and existential questions.  I am a Christian who also has professional experience and training in how to incorporate the Christian faith into therapy. Some of my clients (both from Christian and other spiritual beliefs) take comfort in bringing their spirituality into therapy. Likewise, healing through therapy often shifts or improves our relationships with God.

Let’s take 20 minutes to find out if we are a good fit while I answer any questions you may have.

Green Pastures,

Still Waters

The name “Restingsheep” is inspired by a Biblical poem called Psalm 23. This is a poem that I find myself going back to again and again as a sheep who learns to let my armor down and trust the Shepherd to be just "me," and allow restoration and healing to happen. It’s not about “fixing” but rather a healing journey. In my own healing journeys, I have needed people and places to just feel safe being vulnerable. As a therapist, I intentionally create a space for clients to come as they truly are without concern for judgment. I view being a part of someone’s steps toward healing and wholeness as sacred work and I am honored by the opportunity to participate in these journeys every day in my work with clients.
